GROUND FLOOR
To the left of the foyer is the study, where a large open fire is the focus of the room. A desk features telephone and fax facilities, and an Indonesian teak cabinet houses the television, VCRs, and a selection of classic videos.
This room leads directly to the gourmet kitchen, equipped with stainless steel fridge/freezer, oven and hob, and dishwasher. A large butchers block made from local oak in a wrought-iron frame offers ample counter space for food preparation, as well as open storage beneath for cooking essentials. In this part of the house the ceiling height is 4.6 metres, creating a wonderful sense of space, which is offset by the period chandeliers which hang low in each room.
